We live in a world where just about any serious hand loader has a means to measure the velocity their load generates. Given that most handloading manuals are generated using SAAMI length barrels and tested under tightly controlled conditions, the data generated doesn’t always match real world performance (I.E velocity from an 18in barrel will never match that of a 24in barrel). Sometimes it takes a long time for new powders to be tested which means you don’t have load data to use, however someone else may have. These are just a few examples where it might be handy to know what someone else’s test results are.
The the primary goal of this database is to allow for people to share their test results.
We do this with a few conditions, and by using the database you accept these conditions.
1st – This database is for reference only, and it is up to you to source additional data to ensure the safety of your loads.
2nd – By submitting the loads to me you are certifying that they are loads you yourself have tested and that you do not consider them to be dangerous loads. I.E you did not observe blown or pierced primers, leaking around the primer pocket, or any other sign that the load generated excessive pressure in your firearm.
3rd – If you decide to use the data listed in the database you understand that you should consider them max loads, and reduce the powder charge by a minimum of 5%, before testing.
4th – The database will be locked for editing. To preserve the integrity of the database please email me if you need to make any changes, corrections or additions.
5th – While I ask you provide your initials, I will never share personal data including email addresses or contact information with any third party.
When filling out the information, please include as much information as you have available.
Columns highlighted in yellow is information that we ask to be included to have the load listed in the database.
