I have always been fascinated by those who design, build and shoot their own firearm designs. The history of firearms has included home shop tinkerers, and self made inventors, who loved to try new ideas. Often the motivation was simply, ” I bet I can do it a little better.”
In recent times there has been controversy over whether or not technical drawings and Computer Aided Design (CAD) models are protected under the 1st Amendment. It is not the intent of this website to wade into this controversy. As a draftsman I enjoy looking a people’s designs, and then applying good drafting principles to generate a completed print. It is my way of honoring their work and learning more about firearms.
The source materials for the prints are available on the internet. As with all homebuilt or experimental firearm design, the liability is assumed by the builder. There is no guarantee implied or otherwise, that these designs are functional, safe, or legal in all jurisdictions. It is up to the builder to comply with all local, State, and Federal laws.
